Where do people owe the most on their mortgages?
When it comes to the top 10 states for outstanding mortgage debt, we’re definitely not in Kansas anymore.
This list comprises mostly East and West Coast mainstays, where homeowners owed an average of $200,000 to $300,000 on their mortgages in June 2014. Nationally, the average homeowner with a mortgage owes $164,217.
Oh, and as for Kansas, about $113,450 is owed on the average Kansas home, which lands the state toward the bottom of the national rankings.
