
The opulent former mansion of the late fashion designer Giannini Versace, one of the most coveted trophy properties worldwide, will be auctioned Sept. 17.
They are calling it the Mona Lisa of Real Estate, well-known fashion designer Gianni Versace’s former mansion, the Casa Casuarina will be auctioned Sept. 17. It has previously been listed for $125 million, then the price dropped to $75 million and it now goes to auction on Sept 17. Fisher Auction Company is handling the sale in partnership with the property’s listing agents, The Jills of Coldwell Banker Previews International.
Versace bought the mansion on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach in1992 for $3 million and has added about $33 million in renovations. It is a lavish 23,000 + square feet of living space, ocean-front property on Miami Beach’s Ocean Drive. Inside there are 10 bedrooms,11 bathrooms and an observatory. He also added a 24-karat gold-lined pool among other custom upgrades.
All of the property’s furnishings, artwork and hand-painted murals come with the sale of the property.
In order to participate in this auction, buyers must put down a $3 million deposit by September 12 and show proof of funds in excess of $40 million to enter the bidding pool.
The home hits the auction block Sept. 17. The bidding will start at $25 million.
